Magic Number is 2

That's right folks, the Cubs could clinch the division this weekend at Wrigley against the St. Louis Cardinals.  Sweet irony.

  1. Umm... no. Many things it might be, (although not today it ain't), but "irony" isn't one of them. Maybe if the Cards had been leading most of the season, only to suffer a Cubs-esque late season collapse, *then* you might have "sweet irony". But not this way, sorry. You and Alanis really need to check the dictionary again... ;)

  2. About time...
I'm thinking it's about time the cub's finally get to the series after *ahem* years. And I'm probably wrong on this as I really don't follow baseball that much, but isn't one of the cub's better players this year a former member of the cardinals? I'm just sayin'. On the other hand, I have to agree with Matt on this one. The word irony doesn't really apply, sorry. Kudos to the cubs if they win, but it would only be ironic if they had come from behind to beat the cardinal's instead of just staying ahead of them the entire season. (Again, I may be wrong on that, but I don't think so) So how did the game go last night, anyway? *looking up score*...please hold...oh. ouch. Ironic, dontcha think?
