Civilization IV

Well after making a trip to Best Buy to get a bigger badder video card, I finally got to play Civ IV. Pretty cool. Lots of new aspects to the game and they've automated some of the tedious stuff so gameplay is faster. Still a bit sad that I need a uber video card to play a strategy game!

Let the Spirit Flow!

Woohoo, we had a choir practice tonight that rocked. Not sure what's gotten into the director, but she's finally picking some contemporary pieces for our parish!

I Knew We Were Losing!

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning.

At the Movies

Ok this is stolen from . Below are 15 movie quotes, please answer the ones you know in comments. Bonus if you can tell me who said it (character name).

1. I feel the need, the need for speed!
2. May those who love us, love us. And those who don't love us - may God turn their hearts. And if He cannot turn their hearts, may he turn their ankles, so that we may know them by their limping.
3. Ni!
4. We are three wise men. Well, what are you doing creeping around a cow shed at two o'clock in the morning? That doesn't sound very wise to me.
5. Play the sunset. Close your eyes. One, two, three, four.
6. I joined the army 'cause my father and brother were in the army. I though I'd better join before I got drafted. Son, uh, there ain't no draft no more. There was one?Play the sunset. Close your eyes. One, two, three, four.
7. Who dares enter the sacred and awesome presence of the everlasting know-it-all [sic]
8.What's it doing? It's learning.
9. I'm going steady, and I French kiss. So, everybody does that. Yeah, but Daddy says I'm the best at it.
10. Wise man say, "forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza."
11. You college guys are all alike, all you really care about is getting laid. I wish I was going with you.
12. This isn't a hospital, it's an insane asylum! And, it's your fault!
13. God creates dinosaurs, God destroys dinosaurs, God creates man, man destroys God, man creates dinosaurs.
14. The key to faking out the parents is the clammy hands. It's a good non-specific symptom. I'm a big believer in it. A lot of people will tell you a good phoney fever is a deadlock, but you get a nervous mother, you could wind up in a doctor's office--that's worse than school. You fake a stomach cramp, and when you're bent over, moaning and wailing, you lick your palms. It's a little childish and stupid, but then so is high school.
15.Back in the old days with J.C., we used to walk everywhere. Did you ever hear of a fat apostle?

Sleepless in Jacksonville

Ok so I'm in a funk today anyhow. Kinda lonely, wishing I had a girlfriend, etc. So of course as I'm flipping around on TV I see that TBS is showing Sleepless in Seattle. I'm not sure what it is about that movie and When Harry Met Sally, but they always end up on when I'm in a mood like this and although they aren't exactly pick me up movies, I get sucked in and start watching them.

Dear Future Love of my Life,

I'm ready for you. No further delay is necessary. Anytime you want to call me, e-mail me or come over, feel free.

Stupid Hawkeyes

Ok so we're not going to go undefeated this season, but hey it was supposed to be a rebuilding year.

Ideal Relationship

Hear that women? I'm ready to commit!

Your Ideal Relationship is Marriage

You've dated enough to know what you want.
And that's marriage - with the right person.
You're serious about settling down some time soon.
Even if you haven't met the person you want to get hitched to!

World View

Your World View

You are a fairly broadminded romantic and reasonably content.
You value kindness and try to live by your ideals.
You have strong need for security, which may be either emotional or material.

You respect truth and are flexible.
You like people, and they can readily make friends with you.
You are not very adventurous, but this does not bother you.

Lyrical Thought 9

Lyrics: Al Hoffman, 1941

Bear Down, Chicago Bears.
Make every play clear the way to victory!
Bear Down, Chicago Bears.
Put up a fight with a might so fearlessly!

We'll never forget the way you thrilled the nation,
With your T formation.

Bear Down, Chicago Bears.
And let them know why you're wearing the crown.

You're the pride and joy,
of all Illinois.

Chicago Bears, Bear Down!

New Year's Resolution

Ok so here goes nothing right? My resolution is to be a third lighter by this time next year or at least well on my way. Today's weighing shows 316lbs.
