Year in Review

Another year down, where have I been, where am I going? Wish I had more dramatic answers to those questions. Pretty much 2005 has been me treading water in place. I did get a promotion at work to Network Administrator, but for all practical purposes, I'd been doing that job for the past 2 years. Woohoo it's official now. As usual romance has avoided me. I'm beginning to think that Kate was a rift in the space time continuum or some other anomaly from Star Trek. Here's to a 2006 that includes finding Mrs. Right...

Well I'm back at work after an all too short vacation. Why is it that paperwork multiplies while you're gone?

Rather not know...

Over the weekend I found out what really happened to a good friend of mine from High School. He died in his college dorm a few years back. At the time the story was that he died of an unknown illness. Unfortunately it was much more tragic. He committed suicide by drinking anitfreeze because he couldn't face his parents with the fact that he was gay. Pray for more tolerance in the world.

Lyrical Thought 8

Unanswered Prayers
Garth Brooks

Just the other night a hometown football game
My wife and I ran into my old high school flame
And as I introduced them the past came back to me
And I couldn’t help but think of the way things used to be.

She was the one that I’d wanted for all times
And each night I’d spend prayin’ that God would make her mine
And if he’d only grant me this wish I wished back then
I’d never ask for anything again.

(chorus)
Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers
Remember when you’re talkin’ to the man upstairs
That just because he doesn’t answer doesn’t mean he don’t care
Some of god’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers.

She wasn’t quite the angel that I remembered in my dreams
And I could tell that time had changed me
Inn her eyes too it seemed
We tried to talk about the old days
There wasn’t much we could recall
I guess the lord knows what he’s doin’ after all.

And as she walked away and I looked at my wife
And then and there I thankedd the good lord
For the gifts in my life.

*chorus*
Some of god’s greatest gifts are all too often unanswered...
Some of god’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers

Lyrical Thought 7

There’s a saying old says that love is blind
Still we’re often told, seek and ye shall find
So I’m going to seek a certain lad I’ve had in mind
Looking everywhere, haven’t found him yet

He’s the big affair I cannot forget
Only one I ever think of with regret
I’d like to add his initial to my monogram
Tell me, where is the shepherd for this lost lamb?

There’s a somebody I’m longing to see
I hope that he turns out to be
Someone who’ll watch over me
I’m a little lamb who’s lost in the wood
I know I could always be good
Someone who’ll watch over me

Although he may not be the man some
Girls think of as handsome
To my heart he carries the key
Won’t you tell him please to put on some speed
Follow my lead, oh, how I need
Someone to watch over me

Theology on Tap

I just got back from our Diocese's first Theology on Tap. We had 12 people which I thought was pretty good. We're young, we're adults and yes we're in your church!
